Hit U.S. TV series NIP/TUCK is set in the flashy world of South Beach, Miami, where looking good is a full-time profession. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) are plastic surgeons. Sean is married to Julia (Joely Richardson) and has a conscience when it comes to his job, while Christian is willing to lie to get a woman into bed and onto the surgery table. Although they've been partners for years, their opposing ethical stances, as well as Christian's desire for Julia, keep the dramatic tension bristling. This release includes every episode from the show's fifth series.

Whilst series one & two were always gonna be hard to be beat, this one easily slides past three & four as the third best in the series. Some great past stars pop up, mainly Lauren Hutton (the original supermodel) who woo'd Richard Gere in American Gigolo. The production seems spot on again and the acting is good also, we just need some really great story lines to beef it up.
I guess it's the same with most tv series though............, even 24 can go over the same type plot lines and be interesting still. I wont tire of ever watching Nip Tuck as it's still up there with the best of em. Hope the next series ups the ante that little bit more.

Unfortunately I have to agree with a lot of the other reviewers here. This, alongside Season 4, is the poorest of the five seasons. If you thought Season 4 was a little `off the wall' in terms of fantastic and bizarre story lines then be warned. Season 5 scales that wall and takes a giant leap over it!
It is very watchable and still a little addictive but the quality is diminished significantly by the barking mad plots and the frenetic and uneven scripts. It is also noticeable, as others have mentioned that the sex quota has been upped considerably. Sadly, it would seem, for no other purpose than that of titillation. Resultantly, Nip/Tuck now resembles a soft porn version of `Dynasty' on acid.
What holds the season together and compels us to watch on however is the superb acting from the central cast. Good enough to allow the viewer to suspend belief in the fantastical and uber camp plots and instead breathe in the quality of the performances.
In summary Nip/tuck Season 5, and indeed Season 4, pales in comparison to the three which preceded them. Entertaining without a doubt but, unforgivably, offering very little in the way of any depth.

I think that moving them to another city for the 5th season was a great move, so much more oportunities. so far in the previous seasons there has been so much from birth to deaths, miracles to disasters and just so much more. I cant wait for this to be released. I hope that this TV show will run for a long time and keep the great cast it has at the moment. I could not fault the show in any way.

Brilliant, as expected!- pure escapism!
I have been a fan of Nip Tuck, from the start. The wacky story lines, the likeable characters- this programme is must see, the twists and turns keep you hooked!

Excellent
Excellent. Totally unbelievable but that's what makes it great. Once the DVD's on it's hard to watch just one episode at a time as you have to find out what happens next.
