Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

In a nutshell:
The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them.

The lowdown:
Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet's need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS's inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.

Most exciting moment:
After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of "sit", barks approval, and sits down. It's good to talk.

Since you ask:
You can keep three pups in your home at any time. When left to their own devices, they'll play and play-fight together. And they call this 'puppy love'.

The bottom line:
A Nintendog is not just for Christmas.

WOW! this is good 7 April 2006
By ed95
I bought this game because I want a dog but I can't get one as i'm allergic to them. So I bought Nintendogs. Then after 2 hours of non-stop gaming i had realised how brilliant and realistic this game was. Now i am completely addicted! The graphics are quite good except (as that other guy said earlier) the horrible trees on walks and the flat backgrounds. Some of the tunes stick in your head and i can't stop humming and whistling them. The bathing thing is fun as well! And the competition bit is cool. I also like renovating the house. Overall this is a really enjoyable game. (and great for people allergic to dogs!) if you dont know what game for the ds to buy BUY THIS ONE IT IS FANTASTIC. 5 STARS!

Fun:
I got this game for Christmas 2005 and today I still find it great fun! This game always amuses me for hours and it's great when you have to go on a long car journey. If you all ready have Dachshund & Friends but you want a Dalmation, don't buy Dalmation & Friends because if you keep going for walks on Dash & F you will eventually find a fireman's helmet and you unlock a Dalmation! I love Golden Retrievers and I own three but you can own eight dogs if you drop some of them of at the pet hotel. Walks are great because all the things you find. I found a Mario Kart and you get to drive in it or you get over 100 coins for it! The graphics are so realistic because one of my Golden Retriever puppies looks just like my real dog when he was younger! You can do frisbee competitions, agility trials or obedience competitions and if you win, you will recieve loads of money to pamper your puppy or to buy a new puppy. Some reviewers have said that the microphone picks up lots of static and that it is too sensitive. This is not the case! You just have to speak clearly for the dog to understand you, then you are in business! The scenery out on the walks is beautiful, you hear the seaside with the waves crashing, dogs barking and cows mooing. I recommend you go to the park when there isn't any other dogs there so that you could practise for the prestigous title of frisbee champion.Bark mode is so much fun because you connect with your friends and the puppies have a superb time! Great fun. Superb price. Buy it NOW!!!!!

Dog Mad! 20 Nov 2005
This is a fab game for dog lovers everywhere. I bought this game with a Pink DS as a combo and I'm lovin it. The graphics are really good and there's loads of things to do such as walking, shopping, agility, obedience and disk competions with different levels to win.
I've got a dachshund and a husky and they're brilliant and full of character. Its really rewarding to see them respond to your comands and come running at the sound of they're names.
You start of with a limited amount of breeds so choose your game wisely but don't worry, the more you care for your dogs and win competitons the more trainer points you get! The incresing number of points lets more breeds become available and you can interact with your mates to expand your collection.
There's only one problem with this game and is its repetative, you have to be a devoted dog lover to increase your trainer skills. For example, I've had my Dachshund game for a month and I've got 7310 points at Top Handler level and I still don't have all the breeds yet. All the same, this is a brilliant game and a guarenteed good buy!
