If you're really into your Nintendo nostalgia then Tetris DS may be better for you, but simply as a pure Tetris experience it doesn't get any better than this - and it even topples my previous favourite Tetris DX on Game Boy Colour. Sure, it doesn't have multiple user accounts that allowed you to play a computer version of any account holder (including yourself), and sure it doesn't have any kind of graphical bonus when you finish a round of Marathon or 40 lines (like DX did in Marathon with the space ship (although maybe something happens if you actually clear lvl15, I don't know), and in 40 lines with the various kinds of fireworks that were let off depending on how many 1, 2, 3-line or Tetris's you managed to hit), but aside from this, the game could hardly be any better.
Some reviewers have complained about many of the game modes being pointless or whatever, but for me because there are so many of them, I'll usually be playing at least one of them every time, and far more often than I'll play Marathon. In particular, Bombliss Plus is just amazing, and with this game having the highest audio fidelity you'll ever hear on 3DS, if you plug it into an amp and turn the bass up you'll have an awesome experience with all those bombs going off.
AR modes are OK, but you do need room to play and I really wish the play field didn't rotate in AR Marathon (happens when you clear a line with a bomb in it) because otherwise this mode would be really good.
Online is where I spend most of my time, most ppl seem to go for the 'items on' option, which is great fun apart from having to blow into the mic in order to clear fog when someone inflicts it upon you, I'm probably getting stronger lungs for it but I still feel light-headed after every time even if I blow gently (but I think it may be getting better now); especially bad if several ppl activate it one after the other. I guess if you play a wind instrument you won't have any problems though :S
Overall, if you like puzzle games, you can't go wrong with Tetris on 3DS.

I haven't played Tetris for YEARS and I was a bit anxious of buying this as I love traditional Tetris.
This is an excellent game, I keep going back for more every hour! There is a variety of different modes, such as "Puzzle, AR modes, Shadow Wide(which consists of building a 2D picture to make a 3D picture complete on the top screen.
The music is catchy and uplifting, and various difficulty modes.
I seriously cannot put it down! Its so cheap and a complete MUST for your 3DS. What with the release of Super Mario 3D Land just weeks away, this will keep me busy until then.

Fun:
After being disappointed by a very stripped down version of Puzzle Bobble on the 3DS, I have to admit I was cautious about picking up Tetris 3DS... But I'm so glad I did.
I can't remember any game of Tetris having so many game modes. Not all of them are great and some can be gimmicky, but at least there's a wealth of options.
There's full online play against friends or strangers for upto 8 players, which can be played in classic mode or with Mario Party style power-ups that shake things up a bit. There's also wireless multiplayer for people in the same room as each other with single card download play being a nice little bonus.
Another great idea is the Augmented Reality Tetris Climber - What great fun. I've really enjoyed that mode, especially as it gave me a reason to dust off the old AR cards.
All in all I can't recommend enough. If you like puzzles, or Tetris you will love this.

i tried to like it but didnt !
i love tetris,and have owned many different versions.i love the 3ds too,so was looking forward to teris 3d.i found i was dissapointed with the graphics and controls. Read more

Tetris in 3D
Not being a child, I do tend to stick to one game. After much encouragement to upgrade to 3D I purchased this game.It is brilliant and I am happy with my purchase.

3DS Tetris Game
My 10 year old was desperate to get this game. He was very disappointed. he said there is not much to do on it. Tetris on the WII is apparently better.
