Having previously owned the ds lite and sold it long ago, i recently decided to finally replace it so chose to buy the dsi xl because of the much bigger screens.
Having bought this bundle i have to say im not dissapointed. The screens are noticebly much larger in comparison to the previous model of dsi which only expanded on the screen of the lite by .25 of an inch. Having much bugger screens makes palying games alot easier and more fun as it's less strain on the eye. The sound has also improved, along with the battery life giving plenty of game time before having to plug in the charger.
The weight of the system isn't as heavy as you would expect. Although the xl is alot larger than the previous model, this isn't reflected in the weight of the system making it still quite light to hold.
This particular one has mario icons on the top screen to and is finished off in a dark shade of red which looks very sleek. Only complaint would be that it has gone back to the ds lite style fingerprint magnet finish on the top of the console which will makes keeping it looking clean difficult unless you are prepared to wipe it over everytime you've finished using it. Though this is only a minor 'flaw' on what is overall a great looking system.

My wife has just bought this special edition as she liked the colour, wanted a bigger screen, and with the game was a good deal. She likes it very much and will even let me have a go occasionally. Now on the lookout for more games (ordered a double pack and bought another today). Good job the battery lasts well. Also like the fact you can just close the lid part way through a game and carry on when reopened even if it's the next day or longer.

This is a fantastic buy not just for children but for the hole family. A great choice of games there hours of fun and learning to be enjoyed. A++++++++

Buy it then buy another one
All I can say is that if you have children you should buy a DS and then you should buy another one, then go off make more children and buy one for each of them. Read more

great purchase
easy to use, easy to hold, great instructions. Fun using camera and all the frames to change pictures. Definately recommend. Have also bought a case for it as it has gloss finish.
