5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected! 8 April 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Fun, interesting courses or 'cities'. I like the fact that each character Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy all have different difficulties. Picking up items to throw is a big bonus..if you like Super Mario cart you'll like this game for Gameboy. Only complaint, once you start a saved game with a character, you can't change them later in the other courses.

4.0 out of 5 stars 6 Year Old Gamer and his Mom. 23 Oct 2002

I purchased this game for my son last Christmas (age 5). This game is a favorite of his. He really enjoys the car racing with all of Mickeys friends. The graphics are great, the cars are easy to recognize. The track continually gets harder with ramps, water and secret short cuts, with each level. My son, when playing this game will usually sit for 45 min. to an hour. "Disney" did it again, GREAT game and age appropriate. Your young children will enjoy this game. Watch out for Minnie she likes to win!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not without some flaws. 2 July 2012

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I found this game in a bargain bin at a local video game store, so I thought I would try it on for size, so to speak. There are some pros and cons to this game. The pros: excellent graphics, nice soundtrack, great locales (some of my preferences were Grand Canyon, Louisiana, and Utah), good selection of characters. The cons: some characters don't corner or speed so well, and the expert mode is very difficult. I've actually managed to clear the expert mode, but all it really does in the end is unlock the final 2 postcards and a Huey driving challenge mode. In any of the three modes, you have to stay in 3rd place or better to clear it.

It would be nice if the time trial mode was a bit more lenient -- in other words, why not add 5 seconds to each time requirement? It's virtually impossible to beat unless you are trying for Milwaukee, Indianapolis Speedway, or the Daytona Beach tracks (all 3 of them are actual racetracks). Also, unlike it's predecessor -- Mickey's Racing Adventure -- you have no power-ups to help you clear the time trial modes. From what I understand, you have to beat all 20 tracks so that you can claim your gold stars and unlock more secrets. I am curious as to what the 21st and final track is -- perhaps New York City?? I have not been able to unlock Dewey, Louie, Trailer, or the Time Attack modes. Also, when I tried to link up this game with Mickey's Racing Adventure, it doesn't work!! (I used a GBA cable to link both games to GBA's, but perhaps it requires Game Boy Color to actually work.) If any of you know a better way to unlock the rest of the secrets, please feel free to share.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is a very impressive gameboy color title made by Rare and released in 2001. The racing style is that of RC Pro-Am for the nes, with mario-kart style weapons. This may take some getting used to, but not to troublesome. The courses are long and full of twists and turns which make for interesting gameplay. There is also a driving school which I don't understand what it does, I haven't gotten too far in the gameplay. There is also multiplayer, but I haven't had the chance to test it out. The menus are nicely done, and each of the racers have specific stats to them. Mickey is sort of the all around character, Goofy and Pete are heavey ect. Overall, a fun and very well made racer for the gbc.
5.0 out of 5 stars What A Masterpiece! 3 Mar 2014

I ordered this game for my GameBoy Advance and I absolutely love it! It is actually more fun than it's N64 counterpart. The main reason I like it is because it I have the power of fun in the car. I can continue my favorite PS1 Toy Story Racer experience with Mickey's Speedway USA for the GameBoy Color. Totally Impressed! Out of this world fun!!
Pros:
1. Easy controls
2. Power Ups are available when playing against the CPU
3. Lots of fun tracks and characters!
Cons:
1. Don't like the view you race from.
