Product Description

Product Description

The GameCube, like the PlayStation and Dreamcast before it, gets its game data from unwriteable disc media, so, unlike Nintendo's cartridge-based games of yore, you'll need this accessory to save your place in the game, store your preferences, and preserve the stats of your sports games etc. The GameCube 59 Slot Memory Card is really small--about the size and weight of a poker chip--and comes with 4 MB of flash memory (divided into 59 blocks, hence the name), which should be enough to get you started. If you want to archive all your games for posterity, though, you're going to need more than one...

Manufacturer's Description

The 59 Slot Memory Card is an information storage device used to record information such as game progress, high scores and more. This accessory is required to save game progress on the majority of Nintendo GameCube games. The "59" refers to the number of memory blocks on the card. You can save data from many different games on a single Memory Card; however, some games require more memory blocks than others. Please read the game's instruction manual to find out how many memory blocks it uses.

2.0 out of 5 stars Quality but no quantity, 12 Dec 2003
This review is from: Nintendo 59 Slot Memory Card (GameCube) (Video Game)
Well if you're after a quality memory card I can't help but recommend this. It has never in my experience corrupted which is more than can be said for certain third party cards.
But the problem is it's just too small. While you may be able to fit a decent amount of smaller block games on the card there are some that will take up half the card.
The 251 has four times the amount of this card and as it's only a few pounds more I don't really see why this card is still on the market.
Spend a few more pounds and get a card with a reasonable amount of storage space.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!, 29 Sep 2002

I haven't got a bad word to say about official Nintendo products, however, this card is only 51 blocks of memory. Since it was released there's a 251 block card, which you should be able to pick up for only a couple of quid more. So steer clear of this one, and get the higher capacity one for only two or three quid more :).

5.0 out of 5 stars Memory card 59 for Nintendo Gamecube, 7 May 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Nintendo 59 Slot Memory Card (GameCube) (Video Game)
The first thing you will say when you see the memory card is GOD ITS TINY! but small or not it holds upto 59 saves for example Luigis mansion uses 3 pages of the 59 pages and crazy taxi uses 8 pages. So it can hold quite a lot. it's always better buying Nintendo official products cause they tend to be more reliable. A must have for all Nintendo Gamecubes Games!
