3.0 out of 5 stars Its close to perfect 7 May 2014

much better than the previous Ninja gaiden 3 version Razors edge starts to remind me of the the ninja gaiden 2 Sigma which was a great game. Razors Edge is better because more character choice, a lot of games these days are poorly made, but this one is hours of fun even as single player.

Has some decent replay value too.

It just lacks in character costumes not enough of them, perhaps it should have many costumes like dead or alive 5 ultimate has. It would have been nice to have the pad vibrate when your near a secret item, I hate having to re-do the same levels over and over and again over 3-4x with same few outfits and characters to choose from, although decent replay value the replay still has its limits and replaying so many times gets boring,

I'd like to have loads of costumes and realism in such a vicious brawl against other ninjas I would have liked seeing ripped up clothing and even though has a lot I still prefer more blood and even on my own character to feel wounded in battle when I'm low health. Instead of an energy bar it should be just a hidden fatigue where you last a really long time in battle depending on your difficulty, yet its not based on health but perhaps a will power instead to stay alive, how badly your wounded, and how damaged your overall body is that determine if you die or not. That's what would be the difference between your cliche games and a new realistic game mechanic which would be more fun for the next generation of gaming.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as its predecessors. 3 April 2014
By Mike

A lot has changed since Ryu's last outing. The shop has gone, as have the talismans of rebirth and the various elixirs.
The Karma drops by enemies to power super attacks, refill heath or Magic, or supply much needed gold for upgrades and items are also sadly missing(though there is still an upgrade system, just a dull an uninspired one). This also means you can no longer chain super combos in the way you once could. All these things are sadly missed.
The combat itself lacks the precision of either of the first games. Ryu often hops all over the place dealing out death in what feels like an automatic cut scene, likewise many familiar moves are achieved by random button mashing rather than precise presses which really does lessen the experience.
There are many more QTE moments which result in instant death compensated for by many more check points and saves.
Overall this is a sad end to one of my favorite series of games, the newest cel shaded addition to the series is so awful its not worth considering as part of it. This makes me want to play through Ninja Gaiden 2 again rather than continue along this journey that is inferior in every way...
