Not good... not good at all.

Despite the title suggesting otherwise, this is a less-than-mediocre Kung-fu movie by Godfrey Ho, and the closest it ocmes to having Ninja in is a guy wearing a black cloth over his face once. I won't go into great detail about the film, suffice to say that this isn't worth watching. Some kung-fu/ninja films are so poor they are funny (like "Sakura Killers" or "Enter the Ninja"), but not this one. Poor swordfighting scenes, dull, uninspired, drawn out kung fu scenes... and since these are likely to have been the only reasons for watching the film (plot? Don't bother... its got more holes than a Tetley Teabag) there is truely nothing to commend at all.

An amusingly-bad scene in this is when a bad guy releases two dagger-blades out from his belt... god knows where they were stored... in his stomach? He then proceeds to fly through the air, cutting one of the good-guys. Oh, theres lots of impossible leaps in this film, you know, jumping on top of buildings etc. That managed to wrest a wry smile from me once in a while.

From a technical aspect this disk is very poor... grainy, scratched, blurry image (yes, I'm sure the original film was in poor condition but still), unconvincing dubbing, *NO* extras at all...

Avoid at all costs. Even if it is quite cheap...

not that bad... 29 Mar 2012

OK... here's the thing... apart from the Gweilo, on the cover,
and the word "Ninja"... which have nothing to do with the film,
this is not a bad, early Wuxia... The plot is a typical Chinese
fare, of Princes and female bodyguards... but, it's a lot better than
the "you killed my master" plot-lines. And the action, is mainly
sword play... and not just Kung Fu...

the copy is off a VHS, but, I have seen a lot worse than this, and
as for the dubbing... again... I've heard a LOT worse... at least
the dubbing, matches the plot...

I donno... it's not a master... but, it is a lot better than the cover
suggests... if you plan to watch EVERY, Kung fu movie, ever produced...
it's well worth watching...

again... I have wasted, more time, than I care to mention, watching
worse films than this...
