5.0 out of 5 stars Alvin Lee only gets better with age, 20 Nov 1999
By Dan Gustafson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nineteen Ninety Four (Audio CD)
While most gutiarists of his generation are either no longer with us, or a mere shadow of their former selves, Alvin Lee's gutiar playing is better than ever. From the opening licks of "Keep On Rockin" through a a great cover of the Beatles "I Want You(she's so Heavy)" This is the work of a true master in top form. "The Bluest Blues" features George Harrison on slide as well as one of the greatest gutiar solos of Alvin's career. Anyone who enjoys great gutiar playing (there seems to be very little of that these days) will love this album. Rock On Alvin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent music from guitar wiz Alvin Lee!, 15 Jan 2002

After listening to this cd by Ex-Ten Years After Guitarist/vocalist Alvin Lee I was truly impressed. The man is better than ever and hasn't lost any of his guitar licks since his popularity in the 70's. His speed and accuracy are to be admired. His vocals are top notch as well. From the first track "Keep On Rockin'" which sounds alot like Ten Years After's "Choo Choo Mama" you know this cd is gonna cook. You've got the hilarious song "Long Legs" which could have been sung by ZZ Top (Its that kind of song), "Boogie All Day" which is very swing oriented, and you even have Alvin doing some cover versions. One being the Dave Edmunds hit "I Hear You Knockin'" which is as good if not better than the original. And Alvin even does a superb job of covering The Beatles tune "I Want You (She's so Heavy)". All in all if you enjoy great rock n' roll provided by one of the fastest guitarists ever than pick this cd up before it's deleted. Also check out Alvin's "LIve In Vienna" Cd in which he includes tracks from this cd as well as old time classics like "I'm Going Home"! Highly recommended!

Somehow this album slipped thru the cracks. It's an import so it never got any notice in the states. Alvin was a monster shredder with Ten Years After. On 1994 he shows his blues side and some good old rock. Two songs with George Harrison. Don't pass on this album. Awesome!
