This is the second of the 'David Cunane' novels and it is every bit as good as the first. Cunane is an old style PI who operates both inside and outside the law. Here he becomes involved in murder, DSS scams, conspiracy and social work! He beds the ladies and gets a good kicking every so often. Frank Lean has created a charatcer right up there with the greats of modern thriller writing and deserves a TV series of his own. Lean is a superb writer with a feel for both dialogue and description. This is a cracking read and I can't wait to read another one.
