5.0 out of 5 stars On the road again 10 Feb 2004
I was pleased enough just to find that this DVD existed, as I have fond memories of seeing 9 Below Zero in the 80s, and try to snap up film of bands I have seen. This is not the same line up as I saw back then, but I was not disappointed in the least. Greavsie is still playing the guitar and singing and Mark is still playing the harp and now taking on quite a few of the vocal duties as well. The new rhythm section (I say new, but they have been in the band for quite some time now) are fantastic and they looked to be enjoying themselves.
9 Below Zero were always a treat to see live, and I can still remember the excitement and energy of their shows, but what surprised me on this DVD was just how good a guitarist Dennis Greaves is, in fact it all seems a lot more musical than before.
One or two of the old favourite songs are missing, but with the number of songs cramed onto this set you really can't feel short-changed. The only negative thing I could say about this is that the audience don't really do justice to the performance: 9 Below Zero in my opinion still need to be in front of a packed crowd.
Fans of old will be pleased to hear that Dennis Greaves is still the most cockney person on the planet and I can't believe he has not been snapped up by Eastenders long before now...

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply The Best Rythm & Blues Money Can Buy! 19 Feb 2004
This DVD From the UK's best Rythm & Blues band NBZ is fantastic, It captures the essence of NBZ with Dennis Greaves playing out of his skin, Rory Gallagher's old Rythm section provide a solid base to the music, The band are so tight and sound so good you just have to be amazed by them, If you get the chance to see em live - DO IT!! you will not be dissapointed, A great buy for fans of R&B.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real R&B !! 4 Dec 2003
By A Customer
See proper R&B at its best!
Absolutely sensational dvd from the UK's top live band.
Excellent production and the sound ( particularly the bass reproduction) is outstanding.Just like being at the gig but you can sit down if you dare - geriatric rockers and musos please note!!
If they aren't gigging near you this is the next best thing.
Outstandingly outstanding!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm glad I bought it 21 Sep 2007
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I got this DVD on the strength of Gerry McAvoy's book "Riding Shotgun" and I'm so glad I did. Apart from the interviews watching the set made me wish I had been there. These guys clearly enjoy what they do - not even the lights going out can stop the performance. Not only people who like music should get this, so should potential bands just to see how to enjoy yourself as a band and how to communicate with your audience.
