im confused....is this a fish eye lense or is this an attachment i need (if i purchase a fish eye lense)

I purchased this adapter for my Nikon Coolpix 5000 to connect a Nikon 3X teleconverter lens (TC-E3ED). The adapter threads onto my camera easily and is a perferct fit. The quality is excellent and meets the high standards set by Nikon.

Necessary item for lenses, macro light... but should it be?

Unfortunately, Nikon made the Nikon Coolpix 5000 with a non-threaded lens front, and this adapter tube is required for several accessories. The metal tube is accurately made and well-crafted, and works well for its intended purposes. But I can't imagine Nikon engineers and designers could not find a simpler, more elegant solution to accessory lenses and macro lights.
