Nikon's dog neckless 23 Nov 2009
This lenshood is more peculiar than usefull. It protects the lens against rain in moderate amaounts, but the sun has almost free access into it. I have tried taking the hood off in sunlight, and the difference between having it on and not at all is indeed minimal. As a compensation the hood comes out pretty cheap.

Does what a lens hood is supposed to 13 Nov 2011
By Stanley J. Tom - Published on Amazon.com

The range of the matching lens, the Nikkor 28mm-105mm f/3.5 to f/4.5 AF-D, goes from wide angle to telephoto. Accordingly, the hood is somewhat physically wide and bulky. But it does what it is supposed to: protect the lens front element and provide some flare reduction.
Sometimes things don't always work out the way you envisioned. 12 Sep 2009

My disappointment is not with the seller, but with the size of the hood. It is quite large and I didn't realize this when I purchased it. Too bad I can't get a hood that is more cylindrical and takes up less space in my camera bag.

The product is okay??? The purchase sucks! 26 Jun 2008

This is one of those moments that I would prefer not to speak. However, it is hard to find fault with a plastic lens shade from Nikon. It does the job it is designed for.

My complaint here is the excessive shipping charges I had to endure to obtain a few plastic specialty parts for my Nikon camera from a well known national camera retail seller. I have shipped many used cameras and lenses all over the country. My experience tells me that I had to pay twice as much as was necessary to obtain these few specialty items for a specific camera and lens they were required for.

Believe me when I state that this retailer has most likely lost me as a customer, who has used their services from New York for over four decades. Their unreasonable shipping and handling fees were twice as much as they had to be to make a delivery. Can You Say Rip Off?
