Product Description

High quality Nikon bayonet lens hood designed specifically for use with the AF-S VR Zoom NIKKOR 70-200 mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens.
This lens hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact and moisture.

Does the job, but when you reverse the hood back onto the lens it does not lock on well, it rattles and is easily dislodged from the lens, none of my other Nikon lens have this problem, so when not in use , you need to keep an eye on it,in case you drop and loose it like I did, also it is very EXPENSIVE to replace.

Nikon HB 29 Hood 2 Feb. 2009
By J. Marin - Published on Amazon.com
The lens hood functions well. The matte finish on the inner surface is effective in stopping random light from reflecting on the lens glass. The button release is a little sloppy and doesn't lock well.

Product arrived quickly and was as described. I hate having to replace these because usually they are overpriced but I thought these guys do a terrific job at a fair price.

My first one on my 70-200 got broken by a flying baseball while shooting sports. What more is there to say? It's Nikon and it's OEM. Perfect.
Very tight fit. 19 Nov. 2014

I lost the hood to my new 70-200 lens. This hood goes on tightly but well enough but taking it off is extremely hard. I was worried it would break the camera. Not sure why it was so difficult.
