Serious Piece of Kit! 2 July 2003
I recently got hold of this camera and now I know why Nikon themselves call it a "professional" camera. It's basically an F5 made to look like a normal SLR. It is bigger than your average run-of-the-mill camera to the extent that I would call it manly, robust! I have run several films through it and it can handle all the situations I have thrown at it. The autofocus is very fast and accurate. Because it is bigger than normal it feels very rugged. The ergonomics make it feel lighter than it is because it fits in the hand very nicely. I go everywhere with mine, well, you never know what might happen do you! If you are serious about photography and can afford it get one, you wont be disappointed.

Taken a hammering (and more to come!) - Beautiful piece of equipment and handles like a dream. Feels like it should do at that price level, an awesome performer.

This is an extremely pleasant camera to use without the bulk of the drives of an F5, simple to set to suit, great for B&W and everything is just in the right place for the hand. I've had it for 4 years now and it's always reliable. It's not quiet but it's solid ! Maybe becoming a classic ! I still want my digital but this is a very underrated camera at an extremely deflated price if you can get a minter.
