Great quality piece of kit, feels extremely well made. Need to keep the glass clean (which can be awkward) as any dirt is in sharp focus.

Although it is generally a fairly well-made piece of equipment, its main fault is that the inner sliding sleeve is a bit too loose, thus causing lateral movement when adjusting its focal length. Although there is no facility for copying negatives, it would be fairly easy to make a suitable carrier for them, providing that it is robust enough to hold the usual 5 or 6 negatives in one strip without distorting or sagging. Had the designers given it sufficient thought, they should have made it at least 20mm longer, thus avoiding the expense of extension rings.
I purchased the Nikon ES1 adapter to replace the Opteka duplicator that I had before, because the slide holder seemed better to me. From this standpoint, i was not disapointed. But the difference with the Opteka is that the Nikon is just a tube and does not include a lens like the Opteka, so that you need to use a ring or a bellow to focus. Taking in account that there is no optical part in this device, I find the price rather high.
