5.0 out of 5 stars The best booklet to fathom the D7000 4 Feb. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought a brand new D7000 having advanced through a secondhand D70 and that cameras manual (complicated enough)! It's a pity Nikon have not advanced with their manuals to give some 'life' to the instruction and technical booklets that go with their cameras. I should have anticipated that, as a more advanced camera, I was in for a real headache with all the new settings and the countless 'bland' technical pages in the manual.

Needless to say, I struggled. I hunted the net for some answers and guidance and a UK user who could perhaps teach me in a way which was easy to follow how to make the camera do what I wanted it to do, be an extension for my creativity! During the 'hunting process' I came across Doug's e-book. I read the sample pages! Brilliant - just what i was looking for! A manual for the D7000 that was exciting, clear to follow, had examples and was used by a professional who gave just the right amount of technical with explanations of why you use those settings, when to use those settings and so on...all properly explained. The book is a revelation. i have never looked back. Doug's book is a joy to follow, well thought through and well written. Nikon should be employing Doug to write every one of their cameras manuals. if they did, Nikon sure would be remembered for it and be different from their competition!! After all, that's what nikon profess to be isn't it...different.... It will make a difference to you if you're looking for a way through the tech. blurb to buy this book. I have no regrets, only praise for such a well written, professional helpful guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Experience! 10 Oct. 2011
By Mr M
Format:Kindle Edition
After purchasing the D7000 DSLR earlier this year I spent some time poring over the Nikon User Guide. Some parts of the Guide are essential and repay careful reading. However, in general, Nikon describe the menus, options and settings in factual or technical terms. I struggled to work out how best to set up and operate the camera so as to take consistently good photographs.

Douglas Klostermann's eBook: Nikon D7000 Experience - was a revelation. Under his expert guidance the reader is swiftly eased through the camera set-up process, understanding at each stage the rationale for and implications of each setting. Two thirds of the easy-to-understand text is allocated to comprehensive coverage of how to operate the D7000 for picture-taking (and video). Really practical and tremendously helpful. Readers of this eBook can expect to benefit from a more rewarding photographic experience using this superb camera, and be better able to exploit its potential to match their personal objectives and photographic style. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars essential reading 21 Aug. 2011
By caigus
Format:Kindle Edition
I have just moved up to a d7000 from a d90, upon getting my new camera I realized how different and how advanced this d7000 is. I thought I need help to understand how it works properly. It cost a lot of lolly. The manual is good but it reads like a technical document, it has no feel.Looking through Amazons kindle books I came across this book. I took a chance and downloaded a copy, and I am so glad I did. The author go's through every function in the cameras menus and then goes on to talk about the different settings for image capture. If you are new to the d7000 you will be missing a great way to get to grips with your new toy, if you don't get a copy of this book you will really be missing out

I upgraded to a D7000 from a D3100 and was baffled by the seemingly endless menus and settings. Doug's book cuts through this in clear, simple language and enabled me to get up and running quickly. The D7000 is a fantastic piece of kit and this book has helped me to exploit its capabilities. Highly recommended for any D7000 owner.
