Ok, it is clear to me that D2H is discontinued camera. But here are my 2 cents...
I have owned 2 - Nikon D2H's since fall 2003 - and use them up to today. I paid $4,000.00 for each body. It is a work-horse camera. I took it with me twice around the world, from desert to under water. Never had any problem. Works great, feels great, performs well.
Some reviews trash D2H. Don't get discouraged by them. It is all only a war of numbers. Yes, it has only 4.1 Megapixels. True. But in 99% of times it is adequate for what you are doing. At 4.1 Mega pixels, it is still packed with 6 MB files / per photo. And if you shoot in TIFF format, you get high quality images. Most of the photos today are posted electronically anyway. That means resolution of around 72 dpi. As far as printing goes: I successfully print 13 inches x 19 inches photos from D2H over and over with exceptional quality. Nobody never complained about "low megapixel" count.
Now think carefully: when was the last time you printed 13 inches x 19 inches photograph ?
Unless you are fashion or commercial ad photographer and shoot for posters - don't be afraid to get D2H. That is true especially when you shoot sports or action photography. Nothing shoots faster than D2H. Today, you can purchase D2H, in great shape, for about $500.00 on eBay. That makes it hell-of-a back up camera. Get D2H - you won't be disappointed...
