Camera was great, it was packaged well and came before Christmas which I was worried about. The only problem was the lens shutter did not open or close properly which was a shame as everything else with this order was good. I was able to contact the seller and a refund was issued without a fuss,

this was our first nikon bought at argos £99.00 and at the time im sure i read some good 4 star reviews for this camera had it now for 2 years anyway was looking for a xmas present my wife as the older pentax i had given her was on the way out. at first this camera was ok but as the months passed little things started to annoy the way the camera couldnt always figure out what to do? autofocus was a real problem and a lot of times couldnt get it to focus at all its now on the way out and is producing dark photos both on its screen and on photo if you switch it off then on again it clears the problem for a while but then comes back again!cannot recommend it and was surprised that my first nikon was so bad and will pay more and get the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS Digital Camera - Grey (12.1MP, 14x Optical Zoom 3.0 inch LCD this time

I bought this camera from Argos, not Amazon. I had problems with the auto focus and returned it to the store. The replacement camera had the same problem as the original. If you like to take photos with full auto, the picture is crystal clear and not blurred, but if you turn the flash off or engage the zoom at all or use any of the features, the picture becomes blurry and loses detail, even if you return to full auto. One minute it will be fine and the next every picture taken will be blurry. There seems to be no reason for this. Turning the camera off and on again and sticking to full auto seems to correct it. I have an older Nikon Coolpix camera already and was looking to upgrade to one that took movies, so I am not unfamiliar with the controls and it is definitely the camera at fault. I will be sticking to my old and trusted model, which produces excellent quality pictures every time, and will be returning the replacement and asking for a refund. The quality is sadly lacking in the S570 and I would not recommend it. There are much better cameras available within this price bracket.
