Product Description

Product Description

Picture shows two young girls and their father in the park posing for the camera.
Incredible coverage from wide-angle to telephoto lets you shoot more than you ever thought possible.

Capturing it all, from amazing wide-angle shots of sweeping vistas to intimate close-ups of faraway action, the powerful COOLPIX L330 from Nikon has got it covered. Pushing the limits of compact cameras, the COOLPIX L330 is easy to operate in any shooting situation thanks to its ergonomic design and intuitive settings. Balancing superb image quality and quick responsiveness with a bright, high-resolution, wide-angle NIKKOR lens, the COOLPIX L330 delivers wonderfully defined photos and movies.

With quality and simplicity at the heart of this smart, sharp shooting camera, the COOLPIX L330 is ready with brilliant results.

Outstanding Optics

Picture shows a silhouette of people on a beach against the sunset.
A 20 Megapixel CCD sensor provides amazing detail, and built-in Scene modes like Sunset help get the best picture every time.

Hidden in the stylishly compact body of the COOLPIX L330 is a powerful 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens. Covering a broad focal length range from wide-angle 22.5mm to telephoto 585mm[1], the shooting possibilities are endless. This fantastic lens paired with a 20 Megapixel CCD image sensor, easily captures bright, detailed images in sharp resolution. The camera’s amazing versatility also extends to Macro Mode where you can focus as close as 1cm. Ensuring you go home with first rate photographs and video, built-in Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction counters camera shake effectively, even when shooting at the telephoto end of the range.

Quality Performance

For superior image quality in any light conditions, the 20 Megapixel image sensor combined with the EXPEED C2 image processing system offers both superior noise reduction and high-speed performance. Together with Motion Blur Reduction and an 80-1600 ISO setting range your photos and videos will always be razor sharp with astonishing clarity, even on poster-size enlargements.

Picture shows 4 views of a young girl playing tennis to demonstrate the capabilities of the optical zoom lens.
The superb NIKKOR 26x optical zoom lens has built-in Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction for rock solid images even at full zoom.

Effortless Operation

Using Easy Auto Mode you can achieve stunning pictures in any situation. Simply switch the camera on, start shooting, and the COOLPIX L330 will automatically select the appropriate camera settings for you. For closer control, there are 18 Scene Modes to choose from, like Sunset, Pet Portrait or Fireworks Show, letting you create amazing pictures just by selecting the mode that best matches your shooting situation. When the action speeds up, the Continuous Shooting modes help get you the best possible shot, and the Best Shot Selector option even selects the sharpest image automatically.

Movie Making

Picture shows a distant telephoto view of tennis balls and a tennis racquet on a tennis court.
Thanks to the availability of the optical zoom and autofocus while shooting; high-quality HD 720p video recording is included too.

The COOLPIX L330 is not just a brilliant stills camera, you can capture great quality HD (720p) video and sound too. Switching instantly from photo to video with the dedicated movie-record button, you can take full advantage of the optical zoom and autofocus to create the perfect scene. Once you’ve finished recording you can view your movie on the wide 7.5cm (3inch) 460k-dot LCD screen and decide if you need another take. The LCD screen has both an anti-reflection coating and 5-level brightness adjustment for clear shooting and playback, even in bright sunlight.

Smart Thinking

Providing you with the opportunity to secure the perfect picture in a split second and edit shots on the spot, the in-camera Smart Portrait System includes features which automatically retouch and enhance your photos. Smile Timer takes the shot when your subject smiles, and Red-Eye Fix corrects false eye colour resulting from flash photography. Blink Proof takes two shots and keeps the one in which the subject’s eyes are more open. It even warns you if it saved a picture in which your subject’s eyes may have been closed. These innovative functions help make any subject look their best and maximise your chance of a successful result.

Convenient Snaps

Ensuring you focus on the important things in life, Nikon has designed a camera with simple operation in mind. The COOLPIX L330 can run on two regular alkaline AA batteries, which are easily available wherever you are in the world. You can also use lithium batteries for longer life or Nikon rechargeable batteries (available separately). Additional image storage space can be provided by inserting an SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card (not included) and all Nikon users can enjoy 20GB of free online cloud storage with our dedicated Nikon image storage and sharing site, Nikon Image Space.

Fitting comfortably in any hand with key controls at the ready, the COOLPIX L330 from Nikon is a serious camera with seriously powerful results.

Uses 4 AA Battaries. A very good starter or stand by camera has basic programing functions, a little slow between shots but overall takes excellent photos at 20.2 megapixel,
26x optical wide angle zoom lens and HD movie quality recordings. Excellent price.

I love this camera! It is light, easy to use and has incredible macro capability. And with 20MP the images are crystal clear sharp. You can flip between landscape to macro in seconds. Also it's ridiculously inexpensive! The only downside I can find is the weighty AA batteries. I'm not sure why they had to design it with those but that's only a tiny gripe. I recommend whole-heartedly!

Decided to purchase this as an upgrade to my little Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 ... I didn't want the physical bulk or complexity of an SLR but did want something with a bit more resolution than the Sony; After a bit of internet research I decided the Nikon L330 seemed to fit the bill.

The camera arrived on time and the packaging offered excellent protection.

I have used this camera for a few days now, and overall, I am quite happy with it.

It's very simple to operate; I was taking photographs within a minute or two of inserting the supplied AA batteries and switching on.
The display is crystal clear and can be set bright enough to be viewed in bright sunlight. The various control buttons are positioned logically, and (for average sized me) are easy to operate. The option menus are also logical and easy to navigate; Basically, if you've used any kind of digital camera at all, then operating the L330 will pose no problems. Eg: If you set the camera to 'Easy Auto' mode operation is as simple as point and click (I suspect I'll be using this mode a lot). The camera feels solid and well built, though I suspect it wouldn't survive an accidental drop onto concrete (so don't drop it). Not really mentioned in the blurb, but you can set the camera to use NiMh rechargable or Lithium batteries if you don't like using the default AA alkaline batteries. I've been randomly taking photos for three days now and the supplied AA batteries are still going strong.

Picture quality is superb, though some of the higher zoom images I took were a bit blurry. Probably more down to my shoddy technique than a fault of the camera. Macro mode works quite well, good if you like taking close ups of flowers and whatnot.

Not really used the flash or video options, so can't comment on those.

Overall; I really like the camera. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for.

I can't overstate how great this camera really is. I am not a professional photographer. I just wanted a great camera to remember holidays etc.

But I ended up with much more than I expected.

It not just the sharpness that is wonderful, but it has this stunning depth which captures truly outstanding images. I thought that the little picture viewer was looking pretty good , until I uploaded the pictures to my computer and I was well and truly blown away!! One small bad point, the batteries are just normal double 'A'. But I won't give it a lesser rating, I will just buy rechargeable batteries :) Stunning.

PS, The videos also look great

So good! I was amazed by this product, It is very easy to use and so light! It must be great for traveling. It will resolve my problem. I often get tired of carrying heavy, fragile, big camera and have to take great care of it wherever I go.
