I bought the 8x30 e11 as a back up for my Nikon 8x32 SE CF binoculars which are considered the ultimate in porroprism binos, performing at the level of top price roof prisms. Well, I was quite taken aback - the 8x30 e11 has superb optics, right up with the significantly more expensive 8x32 SE CF. The sharp, bright, contrasty images coupled with the wide field of view are an absolute delight.
Although I wear spectacles the eye relief provides a comfortable full field of view with the rubber eyecups turned down.
The two negatives are lack of waterproofing and no rubber armouring, but these omissions contribute to the light weight which enables long stress free viewing. A bit of care is all that is needed.
The 8x30 e11, with its quality optics (made in Japan, not China!), light weight and good handling has now become my No. 1 birding binocular. A real binocular gem.
