    ...there are some 7 year olds who might sniff at the pretty basic functionality of this toy. Not mine - he wanted to push the remote control and have his boat move - he didn't want it to do tricks or go fast, he just wanted it to move and it does. We love it. I haven't given it the full five stars because the remote is a bit weedy and is rendered pretty useless in the presence of other more powerful models so that your boat can be left motionless in the centre of the boating pond. Look on this as a valuable life lesson. For the money and as a first foray into remote control boats, we think it's great.

    It's also introduced me to a whole new "Boating Pond World" largely inhabited by elderly gentlemen who seem to spend a disportionate time of their dwindling years fiddling about in their sheds producing sea-faring vessels of astonishing detail. Today Valley Gardens, Harrogate, tomorrow the world.
