The second season of Nikita had me just as enthralled as the first. I literally couldn't stop watching! I had watched it within about 10 days of receiving, and I can't stop blabbering to my friend about it! If you enjoyed the twists and turns of the first season, then the second will have you wetting yourself with excitement and intrigue!
Action sequences are realistic and fantastically played out, while softer moments and funny moments are not lacking. The build to the climax at the end of the season is intense, with many threads of the story (previously seeming unrelated) all coming together at just the right moments. Melinda Clark's performance as Amanda is sizzlingly frosty, yet seductively vulnerable. Maggie Q again delivers just the right amount of compassion in her eyes while she shoots, runs and scales buildings in her attempt to take down Division.
If you think you know what's going on, then think again. The twists and turns this time round are bigger and sharper than ever before!

While Season One was flashy, high-octane action with some clever, but light, sub-plotting to hold it together, Season Two has a completely different tone. The seemingly indomitable Nikita has become considerably more fragile & plausible and although there is still a major action element to each episode, the main feature is the fantastically convoluted plot. Almost every episode delivers an unexpected twist in the intrigue between the shady Oversight, Percy, Amanda & the even shadier Russians but all of this adroit scheming is not at the cost of character development.

The increasing number of significant secondary characters adds perspective and widens the scope while the back-stories of the main characters provide a level of depth and empathy only hinted at in the first series. The pace is necessarily more sedate but it makes this season a much more satisfying and engaging experience.

This may all suggest that this season is a bit gentle & cerebral but it definitely isn't. The small-screen action still has a glitzy, big budget cinematic edge and there's loads of stuff going bang & guns'n'stuff. It all continues to be a bit silly and the ever expanding Scooby gang does get itself into some daft scrapes but that doesn't stop it being a magnificently carefully crafted piece of entertainment. Season three premiered last month so despite the departure of a major character in this season's finale we know that there's more to come, hopefully on blu-ray this time. Hoorah!!

got the first season didnt know what to expect but was pleasently surprised then got the second series, was annoyed that no blu ray uk release so had to order the amercian one from amazon.com more expensive but isnt region locked so plays on uk blu ray players as well. i really enjoyed this series, i gets better and better. the stories are more far fetched in places. but hey nikita isnt the wire or a documentary isnt meant to be realistic. a good series of changes throughout.
just as enjoyable as the first season. def worth getting if you don't then i suspect berkoff and Nikita will surely hunt you down (ok that sounded funnier when i thought it) :)

Empowering women, kick ass action scenes and a vindictive villain! Whats not to love!? I've been waiting for a
show thats driven by women for a while after my beloved Charmed and Buffy ended their run and Ive finally found it!
I also love the love story between Micheal and Nikita that always comes across its problems. And their relationship with Birkoff and Alex and Percy.
I just LOVE this show and am a bit fan. Its beautifully written and acted and never fails to leave me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Bring on season 3!!!

Season Two consists of 23 consistently entertaining episodes, its a Great series.

While some are stand-alone in nature, the serialized structure of this year's main story arcs really provide the show with renewed focus and purpose.

Season 2 is faster in pace and almost breathtaking in terms of plot.

Some of the characters' backstories have been revealed, unfortunately not Birkhoff's :-(

Dont want to give too much away - but this si a great watch.

Although I am not a fan of 'relationship development' by the writers of any series, as I feel that this indicates that they are far too lazy to concentrate on the episode in hand, this was done extremely well in Nikita:Series 2.
All the episodes are attention-grabbing from start to finish, even while showing that Nikita and Michael's relationship hit a few potholes on the way.
Any elaboration on this point would involve introducing 'spoilers,' which is something I wish to avoid.
The price for this series was spot-on, and it is well worth the money.
Perhaps we shall gain an insight into what makes 'ShadowWalker' Birkhoff tick in Series 3.
Certainly hope so, as he is a really fascinating character in his own right.

series 2 is an adequate continuation of the series but seems a bit aimless at times as if the writers have no clear idea of where the series is going. having said this, it is an enjoyable watch and the characters and acting kept me gripped throughout. character development sometimes takes precedence over plot and storyline and often one is left confused about who to route for. i hope season 3 receives more focused writing, i don't think enough was made of the alex/nikita conflict and seemed to resolved way too neatly and conveniently. i am still a fan of the series and will look forward to season 3 because for its few flaws, it is a great show with an amazing cast.
