I bought this to replace a napa 8cm mp3 player, this player is great.
Battery life is pretty short if you have the esp on full but with no esp on (and you don't need it) bettery life is pretty decent at about 8-10 hours. The controls are simple to use it plays mp3 pro's so u can fit 8 albums on a single 210meg cdrw and the sound quality is very good. The remote control has all the functions you need only missing out the esp and eq buttons and is very intuitive to use. The headphones are ok but lack any real bass response but most players come with at best average headphones. One of the best things about this player is it has a resume function so if you have any big mp3's or lots of mp3's on a single cd you wont start again from the begining evry time u turn off the player it will save where you were up to.
The only major drawback with this player and the reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the lack of a backlit screen. Overall the low price, compactness, great function and amazing ability to not skip at all even with esp off pretty much make up for that in my opinion.
The other thing i should mention is the case and magnets; the case is good and holds the player securely but doesn't really fit well on your hand but with the suplied waist extention its works great and is ideal for running or riding especially if you don't have any pockets, then there are the magnets one to attach the remote to your clothing and one with a little clip to keep any exess cable out of the way, the system works very well and the magnets are fun to play with too.
Great player well worth buying if u want a bit more choice of music on the move than a flash player allows but not the bulk/breakability of a full size cdmp3 or hard disk player. It does what it says on the box, its great for sports, I ride mtb's and its great on the bike no skips just great sound.

Poor battery length i ran once with fresh £4+batteries on, half volume didnt even get 500meters up the road before the batteries died on me! difficult to operate without looking at buttons, too many buttons, some buttons cant press because hands free material covers them, cant open dist with hands free case on, speakers broke/wires came out, wires 2 fidelly, bulky to run with around my waist, lost magnet within 2days, cable to goes round waist gets itchy when sweating, not able to purchase anymore disks from ANY shops, keeps coming up with "unable to read disk" when i open then close the lid it then plays :-/, sometimes when running it comes up with "unable to read disk" and because ive got it around waist i have 2 take it off then open & close it then put it back round me very silly, so have to stop crap peice of technolgy, stick with mp3/cd players/ipods or sumit decent, very poor, dissapointed.

I bought this for playing in the car. It slips in the glovebox nicely and the magnetic remote controller sticks to any metallic part of the dashboard, so its always within reach. However, every time the unit is turned off and on it reverts to minimum volume, and you can't turn it back up via the controller so I have to reach into the glovebox - a minor niggle. Luckily the controls on the unit itself are tactlie raised bumps, so you can 'feel' your way to them.

I'm sure the unit would be great for jogging; it never skips a beat with the shock protection on, even without it takes a fair hammering before it skips. The supplied headphones are painful to use though, and the wire is too short.
