In a perfect world, Bishi would be all over the music and lifestyle mags. I hope she won't be relegated to a small trendy alternative crowd as she deserves to be massive. There are a lot of young talented British females stars making their mark at the moment; Bishi could just be the next. Outstanding production, great artwork and most importantly a handful of immediate and well crafted tunes: think Kate Bush meets Cornershop meets David Bowie and you just must be there.

In my view an album is more than a collection of songs; it needs to have something of the spirit of the artist. It can only really achieve this by having coherent and consistent (even if that is consistent wierdness and eccentricity) ideas. What this is is a colelction of songs, each of which is inoffensive, but it is uncler whether this is the rebirth of the Incredible String Band, some dystopian urban cityscape, a homely slice of ethnic warmth or Bengali-inspired Kylie slush. Sad really, the remixes of Never Seen Your Face makes for a much more listenable CD, and shows that there is potential when the themes are developed. (this review reads like my schoool reports!)

I bought this after I heard Bishi interview on the Radio; she's clearly bright, creative, and full of ideas. I wonder if she was stifled here by or just not quite confident enought to go one step further. Perhaps next time...
