Nightmare Hustle! 16 Sep 2007
By Stuart
I bought this dvd today, watched it today, and am going to charity shop it TOMORROW. This is just rubbish....an absolutely rip off dvd. The packaging is what sold it to me, the Psycho house imagery, gloved hand brandishing the razor blood soaked knife....... everything I would want from a good scary movie. Nothing on the front packaging design is in the movie whatsoever, and to even use the words like GRUESOME, GRAPHIC HORROR and VIOLENCE is almost a law suit waiting to happen. What you are buying into as a consumer, that is going on the cover design to make you part with YOUR money, is appalling. Awful, awful, awful picture, awful, awful, awful sound, awful, awful, awful script. Please don't be like me and feel like the best place for this dvd is in the charity shop, even they don't deserve it. All the best.

A nightmare to watch 27 Sep 2007
By A. KING
Thankfully I only paid £3 for this from Woolies but I still feel utterly ripped off. This is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Don't belive a word on the box, it takes disingenuousness to new heights. The only 'unspeakable human suffering and torture' is being inflicted on the luckless viewer.... It is truely dreadful. Abysmal 'acting', embarassingly cheesey dialogue and 'special effects' right out of the school play. Looks like I have to give this a star rating, but it's really beneath contempt.

A waste of a dvd 1 Jan 2008
By Andrew Kerr TOP 500 REVIEWER
Nightmare Hostel (apparently based on true events) tells the story of Michael Dare, a man ordered into a psychiatric facility because he is suffering from a rage disorder. While in the facility (Straun House) he is subjected to tortuous medical procedures all in the name of research. Sounds alright doesn't it? That's what I thought. I like the other reviewers were seduced by the dvd cover which came with a warning "contains scenes of graphic horror and violence and nudity." Being a fan of anything remotely horror my eyes lit up when I saw the dvd. I thought I had discovered an undiscovered master piece that was going to be something really special. But no, what I got was the complete opposite - something really pathetic. Despite being the `Unrated Directors Cut' Nightmare Hostel is anything but scary or gory. The film is almost undesirably poor in terms of the plot, script, acting, even the filming in terms of picture and sound quality is just ghastly. A ten year old kid could write something far better. I'm actually surprised the film makers haven't been sued for false advisement. Nightmare Hostel really has nothing going for it, so I suggest you avoid it at all costs or your dvd player might spit it out in disgust. Dvd is a great technological achievement and to think that it is being wasted with films like this is the REAL horror.
