DVD Description
Five teenage friends living on one street all dream of a sinister man with a disfigured face, a frightening voice and a gardener’s glove with knives for fingers. One by one, he terrorises them within their dreams – where the rules are his and the only way out is to wake up. But when one among them dies, they soon realise that what happens in their dreams happens for real and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due. To save themselves, they must plunge into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all: Freddy Krueger. People need to stop comparing this to the original. Just think of it as a modern day Freddy movie. I loved it. I love all the Elm Street movies, and this wasn't a let down. I love how they've included something from each elm street film as a wink/nod to the fans. Great movie and lots of jumps scares and shocks.

Good, good film.
Not as gory as it could have been.
A must have for all fans.
Good story, concise, but to the point, good twist.
Very different from original but in a god-ish way.
Better on Blu ray.
Good deleted scenes.
This is purely a remake of the idea, not a rip-off of Robert Englund's amazing performance.

Having been a fan of the original it was always going to be difficult to avoid drawing comparisons when watching this remake.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself watching a pretty decent horror film.
The story roughly follows the original with a number of changes that are good and work well.
For the most part I found the acting pretty good, and better than the original in places. The only part that for me did not compare was Freddy himself, I just did not find him as scary as the Robert Englund version, but it was not too bad and certainly not bad enough to affect the film.
The blu-ray transfer is pretty good with plenty of detail even in the dark scenes, which let's face it is most of the movie!
Sound is also pretty good and sounded ok through my home cinema setup.
The DVD version was ok, and is a pretty decent transfer with good picture and sound quality.
And the icing on the cake for me is the digital version, this means I can enjoy this film again when I am travelling with work.
The digital copy has a good image quality and pretty decent sound, it's as good as most digital copies I have seen.
If you liked the original, or like a decent slasher/horror film then give this a go, I don't think it will disappoint you.
