Consider this.At a time when Iron Maiden,Saxon,Samson etc were supposedly the best this country could offer,Budgie were busily creating this incredibly under-rated masterpiece! Check out the melodic "I Turned to Stone","Keeping A Rendezvous" and "Apparatus" to find that great songwriting, musicianship and production existed in the Rock arena. JT's guitar playing is inspired on this album, and Burke Shelley's vocals sound mature and commanding (don't expect Breadfan!).This CD is HIGHLY recommended, and stands the test of time far better than virtually any other UK Rock/Metal album of the era.A criminally under-rated album by a band largely ignored by those who weren't "in the know".

As previous reviewers have said This really is one of the finest albums of the NWOBHM era. [ God how i miss those days ]This album is every bit as good today as it was then. It`s true that the band never found there niche within the H/M scene untill it was to late but don`t let the fact that you may not have heard much if anything about this band or about there albums. This album is full of great songs & great playing & in guitarist John Thomas they found one of the best players around at the time. Check out "Turned To Stone" If you like your Rock/Metal & you like songs you can walkaway singing & enjoy great sounding albums with great playing, then this is a must buy.

Budgie always were the cinderellas of the British rock world, playing second fiddle to the likes of Saxon and Maiden. Nightflight sees them at the very peak of creativity however. Between the blues-edged pomposity of their early work and the dismal mawkishness of 'Deliver Us From Evil', this is simply a superbly crafted set of upbeat heavy rock songs from a band when they were as good as they were ever going to get. Essential listening. Even if you didn't like Breadfan.

Ok so this is not one of the greatest rock albums of all time..but it's good and certainly one of the most underrated/overlooked.Budgie were always a slightly neglected band..even in ther 70s heyday and never had the commercial success that they deserved. This is probably one of the better albums that came out of the NWOBHM period- the track I Turned to Stone should really be included on their Greatest hits album as its up there with their best work. What I really like about this album is that is completely unpretentious down to earth rock music. The production is very good too.
