If ever there was a case of an accurately titled album then this is certainly one that does exactly what it says on the tin. So if you buy it looking for vocal boogie and disco and are then disappointed by the preponderence of 12" B-side dubs (a la previous reviewers) then you really only have yourself to blame. Meanwhile for those that get the concept there's a wealth of obscure, rare and ridiculously rare extended, dubbed out tracks, plus an amazing history and first-hand account of how this now ubiquitous style of twisting a track came into being and evolved. It is undoubtedly of most use to the DJ but worth having for anyone who is into the era, the history of remixing, and you don't need to be DJ for the Francois K Wham! dub to rock your party every single time. But do read the title :)

Previous reviewer complains that "Night Dubbin'" contains too many dubs. Er...did you check the title, Chris? He fairly accurately describes the contents (the Idjut Boys' mix necessarily adds some spacey effects) and then complains! These are 80s DUBS: they have few if any VOCALS - that's the POINT, Chris! Sheesh. It's like complaining that a VOCAL album contains no DUBS. Apart from that, I agree: there's a lot of dub here, so you'd better love the grooves to fully enjoy this.

first 2 reviews are missing the point completely ,the mainstream clubs were playing the A side mixes the underground were groovin to the dubs!
This style was the progression of electronic dance music and the foundation tunes to the current styles of dance.
This is a quality album capturing the atmosphere,aural textures and experimentation of the early 80's.
