Blank & Jones are back ! Their first album "In Da Mix" was raw and unpolished german trance at its best, the second album "DJ Culture" was almost easy-listening-trance and now they are out with their third album "Nightclubbing" that follows the style from the second album. So far we have the following singles from the new album: Beyond Time and DJs, Fans & Freaks (D.F.F.) - I'm sure more will follow. The album starts out with the track "Invocatio". This is simply an introduction to the album containing some weird sounds and dark male voice. I have never understood why dance artists put these rather embarressing introductions on their albums. After the introduction we get the singles "Beyond Time" and "D.F.F." - both in excellent club mixes. Then we move on to the tracks "Nightclubbing" and "Le Grand Bleu" ("The Big Blue" I guees). Nightclubbing is almost a copy of the old B&J hit "The Nightfly", but The Nightfly was good and so are Nightclubbing. Le Grand Bleu is the true gem of this album, and if you need one good reason to buy the album - Well, here you have it. Le Grand Bleu is gorgeous trance with amazing build up and stunning synths. Following Le Grand Bleu we have "Fragile" and "Tribal Attack". Fragile is a good trance tune, but the lyrics seems misplaced. Tribal Attack must be an error. This track is not melodic, it contains weird sounds and is a true mood killer. Come again Blank & Jones ! We move on to "Electric Circus" this is an odd but acceptable track containing at least some tune. This album is almost like an american movie, after all it has a happy ending, and that is the tracks: "Darkness", "Sweet Revenge", "Heaven (Can Wait)" and "Secrets & Lies". The whole album is mixed, that way you experience the four last tracks as one long wonderful journey into the amazing sounduniverse of Blank & Jones. If you buy the special edition of this album, you get an extra CD with Blank & Jones' own "Ambient" mixes of Beyond Time, Heaven (Can Wait) and the ever lovely Le Grand Bleu. Beyond Time and Heaven (Can Wait) are nice, but once again Le Grand Bleu steals the picture. The ambient mood in this track will totally cool you down, and make you relax almost instantanious. This album is good clean german high quality trance you can trust (if you are able to forget Tribal Attack). A Must for every fan of melodic trance. If you like Paul Van Dyk and DJ Quicksilver you are also going to like this.

You'll be Nightclubbing in your own home with this CD 18 Feb 2002

This CD is great and has some of Blank and Jones best music, a must buy CD.

Beynd time, Heaven (can wait), and Nightclubbing are the best tracks on the CD all very good dance tracks especially beyond time.Dj Fans and freaks, Fragile and Darkness are quite good dance tracks, they tend to get boring after youve listened to them a fair few times. Tribal attack and Electric circuis are rubbish. Secrets and lies is not to bad and Invocatio is just an intro.

They've done it again! 31 May 2001

With this disc, Blank and Jones have really staked their claim as the dominating force in the world of catchy, accessible trance. This CD begins with the favorite "Beyond Time", which most trance fans have heard in countless mixes. Next comes the infectious italo-flavored "Deejays Fans and Freaks", which should stick in your head for weeks like is has in mine. Now comes the title track, an uplifting trance stormer in the vein of "The Nightfly" (with the trademark female whisper announcing the title). After that the CD just keeps on cruising, with hit after hit. I've almost worn my copy out.

Note: You _must_ check out the video for "Deejays Fans and Freaks" if you get a chance. A hilarious 80s throwback that goes perfectly with the fun flavor of the song.

Love these guys! 4 Sep 2007

Some of the older Blank and Jones music that made me fall in love with these two. "The Nightfly" is probably one of my favorite tracks of theirs. MUAH!
