Jean Sheridan, a prominent historian, returns to her hometown to attend the twenty-year reunion of Stonecroft Academy, where she is to be honoured along with six other members of her class. There is, however, something uneasy in the air: one woman in the group, Alison Kenall, a beautiful, high-powered Hollywood agent, died just a few days before, drowned in her pool during an early morning swim. She is the fifth woman in the class whose life has come to a sudden, mysterious end. About the Author
MARY HIGGINS CLARK is the author of twenty-nine suspense novels; three collections of short stories; a historical novel, and a memoir. She is the co-author with her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark, of five holiday suspense novels.

I think its the best she's written for a while. I love her books but have been disappointed with the last 2 or 3. This one, however, lives up to expectations and for the first time I wrongly guessed the identity of the killer.
Yes, her books are all very similar but why change a winning formula.

I thought this was a fantastic thriller and I was literally on the edge of my seat reading it! I bought it to read on holiday in Nice and I ended up wanting to stay in my hotel room reading rather than go out, and finished it in 3 days! There are many red herrings and it is great fun trying to work out whodunnit as more amd more incriminating details emerge about the characters. I had managed to whittle down the many suspects to two and one was right! Highly recommeded - you might need to sleep with the light on!

My first book by MHC and certainly won't be my last. Once started couldn't put it down, took me only 2 days to read. Enjoyed the plot, the characters and the suspense of trying to work out who the killer was, I definately got it wrong.

Just amazing!
I love the genre of murder mystery. However, I usually work out who the murderer is about half way through the book. Not with this book though! Read more
