Another excellent, fast paced plot twister from Gillian White. Her characters make the story. You're instantly caught up in their lives, supporting, emphasising, understanding their normal everyday problems and insecurities - and their growing consequences. Night Visitor has exactly what I enjoy in a book - just when you think you know the outcome - you don't. I think Night Visitor ranks alongside Gillian White's Witches Cradle and Mothertime (my two favorite books). I couldn't put it down. By the way - how far would you go to hold on to your husband?

Yet again Gillian White manages to keep the reader gripped from the very first line on page one until the full stop on the final page.
The plot is such that it is easy to put yourself in Roses shoes and anyone who has experienced total love for another person can relate to what she feels she has to do.
Excellent writing. Gillian White has now become my favourite author.
