Product Description

During a New Year's Eve party GP Harriet Lament is called to the house of an old man living on the edge of the forest. As he is taken to hospital, he begs Harriet to discover what happened to his six-year-old granddaughter who vanished a decade earlier, a girl they called Melanie Toadstool.

From the Author

I like Joanna, freewheeling her bike across the Staffordshire Moorlands, solving murders but still displaying her human side in her weakness for married patholo gist, Dr Matthew Levin. But however much I liked Joanna I had itchy feet after 4 books and wanted to write a medical thriller(encouraged by my literary agent). NIGHT VISIT was inspired by the fact that the intake of female medical students today exceeds the number of males. Mix that with the fact that GPs have a 24hr a day, 7 day a week contract to care for their paients &you'll see a (female)GP could be summoned by patients any time of the day or night, possibly to isolated or dangerous locations which is what happens to my heroine, Dr Harriet Lamont. The patients are threatening, a child has vanished. A story is written. A FATAL CUT, my new medical thriller, is a story built around the status of a surgeon. A senior surgeon operates while unfit. Nobody stops him. Years later a serial killer stalks the Queen's Hospital, a teaching hospital in Birmingham. He performs surgery on his victims after strangling them. It's a fairly gory book. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Priscilla Masters is such a wonderful mystery writer. This book is just hard to put down. I am surprised there are not more reviews of her books. If you are looking for a new mystery writer, you can't do better than Priscilla Masters.
