Product Description

Please mind the half-dead girls between the platform edge and the train as you board a fully uncut cinematic ride into terror that was refused a certificate in 1976 and has since never been dared an official release in the UK.

Two street punks, one cold-as-ice sex-crazed vicious bitch and two young virgins converge on a train ride to hell that will see the most unspeakable horrors committed in the name of kinky kicks. Imagine the worst and you re unlikely to come close to what actually unfolds on screen, but comfort yourself with the thought that once Daddy discovers what s been done to his daughters revenge will be merciless. Conceived as a response to The Last House on the Left this chillingly well-made claustrophobic thriller from director Aldo Lado (and scored by Ennio Morricone) sears the brains of those who dare watch it!

Night Train Murders (cert. 18) is released on DVD by Shameless Screen Entertainment. The film is presented remastered in 1.85:1 with English 2.0 sound, in region 0. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery and the DVD comes presented with a reversible classic artwork sleeve.

The most shocking thing about Night Train Murders is that the BBFC banned the movie in the first place.
Upon viewing I can honestly say that despite Shameless hyping the movie up, that Night Train Murders is actually
not a graphic film.

There is two rape scenes, including one by a knife but the viewer see's next to nothing, and yes this is the uncut version.
Of course the subject matter is touchy, but not once should anyone feel uncomfortable about what they are watching. That
isn't possible because the most would be graphic scenes are really left up to the imagination of the viewer.

For the first hour nothing of much interest happens yet the movie does build up well. Director Lado effectively saves the movie
from being average to poor to a good movie. Make no mistakes Night Train Murders is a well made film.

However the movie isn't good enough to stick in the mind for too long.
It's very easy to dislike the movie which is a shame as it did have potential. And yes the movie is too similar to
the far superior Last House on the Left.

All in all then Night Train Murders is far from being a classic, but Lado saves the film from being a dud
but this is hardly warrants you spending your hard earned cash.

"Night Train Murders", original title "L'Ultimo Treno della Notte", is the earliest example of the "Last House on the Left" copycat phenomenon. The film is an Italian exploitation remake of "Last House..." and copies the basic storyline of Craven's original with one crucial difference: the first half takes place on a moving train.

The set-up: two school-girls are traveling home by train from Munichto Italy to spend the christmas holiday's with their parents. On their way they run into two young punks on their flight from the scene of a misdemeanor and a nameless, decadent "Lady On The Train". In a compartment on the "Last Train Of The Night" (literal translation of the original title) things take a turn for the worse for the two girls, culminating in the films most famous and notorious scene as one of the girls gets raped with a knife.

While the scenes on the train are quite intense and nerve-wracking, the movie as a whole lacks the psychological impact, subversive engery as well as the sense of humour and the inimitable style of Craven's movie.
Features one of the least inpired scores by the great Ennio Morricone.

For hardcore horror fans this first uncut release of one of the former video nasties is worth a purchase. Everyone else, stick with "Last House.."
