This book would appeal to children as it does adults. Can recommend it for both. Explains things in a very straight forward way. There are many books in this series, including one a about the weather, which I have and is v good. Great books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lttle book! 23 Jan 2006
Format:Paperback
I'm taking Astronomy GCSE and have bought quite a few astronomy books. I came across this little book, and although written around 25 years ago (1979) it has clear and succinct explantions of everything in the Universe and beautiful illustrations as well. Concepts such as distances and size are very well explained. It's great for(a)basic overview of astronomy (b) good refresher guide to main topics (e.g. stars, planets, the sun etc) and (c) sharing ideas with children. If you can find it, buy it - you won't be dissappointed!
