I started reading Night-Mantled late one night and found myself with an impromptu case of insomnia. I couldn't put it down! All of the stories fit together with dark themes involving the supernatural, fantasy, and science fiction, but there were no cookie cutter stories here. Each author in this collection has a unique voice. Admittedly, not every story was my cup of tea, but I was still glad to have read them all. My favorite was "A speck in the Universe" by Ripley Patton. I come from a comic book background, and I was shocked at how easily I could see this story being illustrated by some awesome french comic artist.
The collection is based on a website, WileyWriters.com. They post a rotating collection of short stories, and even have free audio recordings of some of them. What a great find! I give this book five stars for introducing me to so many new authors, and for a website that looks like it will keep entertaining me for some time to come. I hope they put out another collection in the future.
