Yes, as the previous reviewer said, this toy isn't huge, so it's really quite portable. The age on this is 3 and above, but my daughter is 17 months and as long as I'm with her, I'm sure it's quite safe for her - although the paint does chew off very easily!
For its size, it's quite a weighty little thing and can handle being thrown about and my daughter loves to drop it for me to pick it up over and over again... There's been no real damage to the toy - although my furniture is taking a battering and the paint leaves skid marks on everything. My own fault for giving it to a toddler I suppose!
I would recommend this toy though as it's great for popping in my changing bag and it keeps her attention held for longer than most small toys, but be wary of giving it to little ones as they do like to hold onto the pen and swing it around the room. Make sure there's nothing you hold dear within swinging distance!

I brought the product for my nephew as he's a big fan of In the night garden. Its excellent to use indoors aswell as out, He often takes it out with him which pacifies him in his pram. Definatly worth a buy.

The mini doodle was much smaller than I was expecting but the compact size does make it easy to put in my handbag! My niece has enjoyed using it.

Unpackaged?
OK, I know it will be wrapped in Christmas paper, but I was surprised that it came "naked". No box, not even a bit of cellophane around the poor little chap. Is this normal?
