5.0 out of 5 stars A witty, laugh out loud sexy novel! Loved it 26 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Loved this book and found myself laughing out load at some of the banter that went on. A bit gutted that the story ended as they just professed their love for each other but the story and their road trip 'adventure' was inventive and ultra readable.

I WOULD RECOMMEND this author. I will definitely buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun, sassy and sexy road trip! 8 April 2013

Another fantastic story from Lori Wild.
Enjoy the sassy Tara trying to lighten up the broody Boone. On a road trip where Mercury may be in retrograde however Venus intervenes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another triumph for Lori Wilde! 5 Mar. 2013

Lori Wilde is one of my favorite romance writers! Her books (especially her 20+ Blaze books are well developed romances with a fair amount of semi-explicit sexual content. Her descriptions of the sexual encounters are not pornographic, but somewhat explicit at times. But the sexual encounters are necessary for the story. There is no gratitous sex. It always fits perfectly into the story line. And above all else, Lori is a fantastic story teller. She has many other non-Blaze books that are exceptionally fine stories. Lori is among my top 3 favorite authors, These 3 writers cannot be ranked 1. 2, 3 as they are equally great. Night Driving is the first book in her (Stop the Wedding series) "Smooth Sailing" is the second in the series that came just came out. Both of these books are about differenf persons determined to stop the same wedding--the first is her half brother (Night Driving) and the second in a good friend who thinks he is in love with her, but finds his true soulmate sailing toward Key West as does her half brother (Night Driving) who finds his true love while being driven a couple of thousand miles to his half sister's wedding. Two fantastic stories. The third book "Crash Landing" comes out on April 1 of this year. It appears to be another person trying to stop the same wedding. Very enjoyable reading. I recommend anything Lori has written! Especially her various series books.

I've been waiting for this book since reading the preview at the Harlequin Blaze website. Night Driving is a follow up book to Lori Wilde's Born Ready (Harlequin Blaze). In Night Driving, Boone Toliver (who has been injured by a bomb in Afghanistan) is home and - as the book puts it - is bored, bummed out, and bitter. He's also annoyed by his permanently perky & pesky neighbor, Tara Duvall. When Boone finds out his sister is leaping into marriage with a guy she barely knows, Boone's determined to get to her before the I Do's and stop her from making the same kind of mistake he did.

Problem? Boone's injuries prevent him from driving and flying. What's a desperate big brother to do? Recruit a car pool buddy online.

Bigger Problem? His car pool buddy turns out to be his now-moving (did I mention sexy?) neighbor Tara.

Hmmm. Two people who are reluctantly attracted to each other, stuck together in a car, all day and all night, driving from Montana to Florida for hours and hours and thousands of miles? What could possibly go wrong? Lots apparently, and that's what made this book so much fun to read.

I loved the banter between the characters. I loved how well they understood each other. I loved that, while there was great chemistry and sexual tension between Tara and Boone, there was a real relationship & romance developed between the two. I loved talk of Fate/Destiny, of crossroads and choices, of life-changing events that force you to confront the "What Do I Do Now?" when life throws a curve-ball at you, and the ability of a person to get up, dust themselves off, and start over again no matter how scary it might be.

Wilde's great sense of humor is on full display here. I laughed my way through the book and I love being able to enjoy a book that much. I read this book in one afternoon and resented every time I was interrupted.

Great book, excellent writing, and fabulous, fun, flirty characters with heart. Solid romance. I've already pre-ordered all the books in this series and can't wait for Smooth Sailing (Harlequin Blaze) and Crash Landing (Harlequin Blaze), the next books in the series.

Night Driving is by Lori Wilde. This is a really quick book to read and one just maid for reading on the go. It is a cute book and I liked it.
Boone Toliver, a former army captain, has to get to the Florida Keys in time to stop his sister’s wedding to a man she has known for only a couple of weeks. He knew the pain of a divorce and didn’t want his sister to have those same pains. His problem is that he is in Montana, just had his knee operated on for the third time. The doctor said no flying and he is unable to drive himself to the doctor’s much less anywhere else. His only ride seems to be with the girl across the street. She is driving to Miami after she packs out her house. The only problem is she needs to leave a day earlier if she is to get him there in time
Tara Duvall is a very beautiful young lady with long fantastic legs. She has lots of friends, has lots of parties, and is always looking at things in a lovely sight. Boone has deliberately turned Tara away from a friendship with him. He thinks she is pretty much a “dumb blonde. But he has to convince her to pack out a day early so they could leave.
How can Boone last for days in a small car with it’s nutty driver? Will Tara survive without killing her up-tight passenger?
This is simply a great fun novel.
4.0 out of 5 stars Just Stops at End 7 Sept. 2014

I really liked this book and the reason it got four stars rather than five is that the story just stops. The characters were interesting and likable and I enjoyed their backstories. It's not a spoiler in a romance novel to say that at the end they are in love and decide to stay together. The problem is that I cared about how the issues in the backstories were going to be resolved, but the book just ends. It's not a cliff hanger, but it's incomplete. The book seemed to be missing the final chapter or an epilogue.

This is a great story. The flow of it was ok. The story line kept me reading to the end but I felt it moved a little too slow. I tried putting it down but had to see how it ended. If you like books with a lot of description this is for you.
