5.0 out of 5 stars A Rereleased Classic 28 Feb 2006
By JT
Format:Audio CD
Welcome to a long forgotten classic, Yep this is one of the best kept secrets of the 80`s Metal scene. Kerrang once ran a top 50 Melodic Rock/Metal list at No 1 was Journey`s "Escape" & at No2 was......"Night Of The Crime" by Icon. Yep no S**t this album was really that highly rated & now finaly it`s been Remastered & Rereleased & boy is it good !!!All those of you that are into bands such as Journey, Styx, Night Ranger & espiecially Def Leppard then this is right up your street. The production on this album is very very "Pyromania" by the Lepps, Just take a listen to "Rock My Radio". This Album drips one killer track after another, "Missing" "Danger Calling" "Shot At My Heart" "Out For Blood" the list is endless to coin a phrase " All Killer NO Filler" Yes this album really is that good. This edition contains a nice little inner sleeve written by one time Kerrang writer Derek Oliver explaining what happend to the Band as they released this album originaly in 85 & it`s very enlightning. A band that had the world at there feet & threw it all away, what a shame. Still we have this Album to remind us how good Icon were. If you like your Metal singable with big catchy tunes & great hooks then this is a must buy...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Hard Rock Classic, others are measured by 4 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I first heard this album on its released in the mid 80's when Icon had their hey day in the states.
I was impressed with the catchy keyboard/guitar driven chorus's this band made their trade mark, which now has given the cult status since their breakup in the mid 90's
Blistering guitars from bands mainstay, Dan Wexler, dominate each of the tracks.
Out for blood is the albums finest track with a well crafted Guitar solo into, leading to a killer riff.
This album will appeal to a wide range of tastes, Hard and heavy to melodic rock , as this album has it all. A cult Classic and a must to every rock fans collection

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY BUY BUY!!! 4 Nov 2007
Format:Audio CD
An absolute undiscovered AOR/Metal classic. This CD has everything. If you like your rock hard, but with plenty of melody and catchy hooky choruses, then this is the CD for you. This band should have been HUGE with a capital H. Buy it or regret it forever. Long live ICON!! PS. Don't buy the live CD if advertised. It is a cheap live recording with very poor sound quality, and does not warrant the expense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entelligent Hard Rock at its Best 27 Oct 2000
By Mark Fullington - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Icon's debut album showcased the band's talent and knack for writing in a style similar to Dokken, but Night of the Crime is their pinnacle of creativity. It is a concept album(except for two songs) that tells a story of murder and love played out in strong, well-crafted songs. The music maybe more pop-oriented than their debut, but one doesn't mind after hearing tracks like "Danger Calling" or "Out for Blood." The vocals sound not unlike that of Paul Stanley and the music is out of this world! It is hard to believe that this album and band did not become huge in the 80's, because Night of the Crime is one hell of a hard rock album. Trust me. There are not very many CD's that I would rate five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Hard rock releases from the 80's 19 Jan 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This album is a little more polished than the debut. But it still rocks. The band matures on "Night of the Crime". Their songwriting vastly improves. Every song on this Cd is great, trust me. From the opening track, Naked Eyes, you see that the sound of the production is wonderful and the band uses more keyboards this time around. But the guitar work is better than ever and vocals are big and powerful. Dan Wexler was one of the most underrated guitarists of the 80's. The best songs on the CD are all of them.....but my favorites are Naked eyes, Danger calling, Shot at my heart, Frozen tears and Hungry for love. If you like great songwriting, great production and power rock...then pick up this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars An American masterpiece... 5 Dec 2012
By Mark S. Sundermeier - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Many folks like the first disc better, some even the third...but this kid swears by "Night Of The Crime". I love nearly every tune on this disc and the 2011 re-release of this Arizona based 80's act's classic, is simply amazing! Great liner notes, re-mastering of the tunes...etc. "Raise The Hammer", "Shot At My Heart", "Missing" are simply dynamite pop tunes...that in my mind...still hold up in 2012...I miss this band A LOT!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST KEPT SECRET IN PHOENIX 10 Mar 2003
By "rjames124" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Many times people tend to look for the well known bands that had established themselves such as Dokken, Ratt, Quiet Riot, to name a few and forget other Bands like ICON. I have been a long time fan of Icon since their first S/T Album. I have searched many sites only to find that this album is always limited, so take it while you can. There are 4 Albums which ICON made and if you like this one, it sets you up for the other three. If you love melodic rock, this is it. Head to Head with Dokken, these guys would win you over any day. As I have said there are 4 albums out there. 1.S/T, 2.Night Of The Crime, 3.Right Between The Eyes, and 4.?, Still looking for that one. But in all, the greatest Arizona band, wish they had a greatest Album out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overlooked Masterpiece! 9 Jun 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Icon was a great band that somehow fell through the cracks during the 80s metal years (I just recently discovered them myself). This CD combines Dokken-style guitars (Dan Wexler can give George Lynch a run for his money) with possibly Europe-style vocals. Almost every song on here is a keeper! Try to find their out of print 3rd album, "Right Between the Eyes" if you like this one. It's at least as good as this!
