1.0 out of 5 stars warped 1 May 2008
By arguile
Colour Name:Cream
we bought ours from John Lewis. The lid warped within a month, very frustrating. I took it back to the shop, who were evidently aware of the issue because Nigella had prepped them with a whole batch of extra lids, apparently in expectation of my (and others') visits. I took the new lid home but this warped within only a few days. Life then became too short so I took the whole thing back for a refund, readily given. Shame, because it looks lovely - but with a warped lid, it's pointless!

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT BREADBIN 27 July 2006
By A. Craig HALL OF FAME
Colour Name:Cream|Amazon Verified Purchase
Reluctant though I am to add to Nigella's millions, I have to admit that this is the best bread-bin on the market. The lid doubles up as a cutting board, and it fits tightly enough for bread to last longer than usual. It's a pretty colour and a sensible shape, as you can fit two loaves in with ease. The price is ridiculous, but then having had three others all of which were hopeless I suppose it is worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish and roomy 23 April 2008
By S. Thomas #1 HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER
Colour Name:Blue
I spent a long time trying to find a bread bin that looked nice, would be easy to clean and could also hold a reasonable quantity of bread. This item succeeds in all of these areas.

I had the same experience as many other reviewers with this bread bin - the lids are not very well made. In addition to not fitting very well, the first two lids that I had split within a few days of delivery, which I do not consider is very acceptable with such an expensive product. My last replacement bin has been in use for around three years and has a good fitting lid that does not rock on the base - but I went to a store and checked the lid fitted properly before I bought it.

Looks great and good concept but something is wrong with the lid manufacturing process as mine was split on arrival. Seems to be a design/process problem. Read more

This bread bin was a solid purchase and does its job well.

Only disappointment was damage to the lid upon opening. Not enough to report but still..

3.0 out of 5 stars Lid Quality
The product looks great but like lots of other people the lid has split and warped so has become an expensive white elephant.
