What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?
After reading the previous reviews here, which weren't so good, I was determined to check out this pot in the flesh for myself.
When you read a review saying that the pot is flimsy and that the lid doesn't fit very well, it's a bit off putting.
So I went to a local cook shop that stocked this pot, and I had a really good look at it.
Let me asure you that it definately is NOT flimsy.
In fact it is extremely well made, like most of the Nigella range.
The lid is designed to sit ON TOP of the pot and not within the lip, as is plainly obvious to anyone that has it in front of them!!!!
The base pot and the steamer are slightly different in diameter, and the lid is designed to accomodate both sizes (visible by the ridges on the top of the lid). Just one tight fitting lid would not fit both pans.
I have cooked with mine many times and have never had any problems with the manufacture quality or design letting me down.
I am actually quite cross that the previous reviews made me so hesitant in my purchase.
If you want one of these beautiful and UNBELIEVABLY VERSATILE cooking pots, then please don't have any hesitations in ordering straight from the internet without seeing it first. I promise you won't regret buying it!!
This cooking pot looks just like the picture, very stylish, unusual and impressive, looking in the kitchen. Hovers on the brink of feeling almost Flimsy in weight for the price, but then it will be heavy when full I suppose, also while the lid does fit, it is not as snug as I would like. Will go in the Dish washer, even if you have to remove the cutlery basket first to get it all in. Bit pricey for what you get, but looks good and does the job.
Pot looks great but is very lightweight and the lid doesn't fit either the base pot or the steamer pan properly - it sits on top of both rather than giving a snug fit on either. I have ended up using the lid for another saucepan of mine on the pot for a proper fit. For the price, I really am disappointed that the lid is not a tight fit.
