Nigel Farndale is the author of Haw-Haw: The Tragedy of William and Margaret Joyce, which was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. A collection of his award-winning interviews -- with Hillary Clinton, Paul McCartney and Stephen Hawking, among others -- was published as Flirtation, Seduction, Betrayal. He grew up in the Yorkshire Dales, read philosophy as a postgraduate at Durham and worked as a farmer for a few years before moving to London to become a journalist. He now lives on the Hampshire-Sussex border with his wife and their three children.
