5.0 out of 5 stars A child-focused, practical resource for professionals, 9 Dec 2003
By A Customer
I think that 'A Nifflenoo called Nevermind' is a very useful resource for when working directly with children. It has child-friendly language and a subtle therapeutic theme. The pictures compliment the story and should aid childrens' understanding. I think that kids will really enjoy the story and for those children able to deal with issues overtly, the guidebook offers some useful exercises - from tick boxes, to discussion points, visual aids and drawing ideas. For children needing more symbolic work, it gives the worker ideas for using the story to talk about how it is relevant to that child in a less challenging way. It is a very practical resource and the guidebook explains the therapeutic basis in clear language (for those of us who hate jargon!). I can think of several children I've worked with where this would have helped and I plan to use it a lot in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars great, 19 Jul 2009

this book has been so helpful to our children. Just a couple of reads have given them an understanding of why it's important to talk and why they don't have to just put up with other peoples hurtful behaviour which are things we'd tried to explain but "weren't getting through" to them. It's been life changing for the whole family really, can't recommend it enough!
