4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD for young & old! 2 April 2010
Format:Audio CD
I bought this CD after reading reviews on amazon.com and don't regret it. Definitly one of the top 5 CD's in our house for the kids. Great on car journeys, and it doesn't take long before mum and dad are singing along too! Great way to introduce jazz and rhyming with some great tunes to your kids. My 3 year old loves it, and we even use it for background and distraction music at mealtimes when kids getting fussy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! 10 Jan 2008
By I. Kay
Format:Audio CD
This is just such a timeless and classic CD. My 3 year old daughter will happily listen to it for hours, especially handy in the car, and now my 9 month old baby boy's face lights up when he hears it too. Can't recommend it highly enough if Twinkle Twinkle and Humpty Dumpty are wearing thin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy the book and the CD! 4 Sep 2004
By Mary C. Woods - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is a must-have CD for any parent who likes introducing the simple joys of great music to their kids. My mom and dad (both in their late sixties) enjoy listening, too, and my child can ask her grandmother about other songs from "back in the day."

Get the book, too! Nicky's really big personality shines through as he rubs elbows, er-paws, with some jazz heavy-hitters. Your child will love the photos and will also discover some great new vocabulary words like bop-a-re-bop. The CD and book have proven to be a great gift combo.

Take a listen and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars WAY more fun than most kid CDs! 23 Dec 2003

Yay! After purchasing a pile of CD's for kids, this is the first one I can stand. You dont have to be a jazz fan to appreciate the original quality of these recordings. These are original recordings, not "watered down" versions for kids. Definitely get the book as well! "Nicky the Jazz Cat" which has beautiful pictures of the musicians.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most under rated cd's on the market 3 May 2005
By MovedbyMusic - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This cd has won awards and delighted anyone who has listened. Why it isn't a requirement for kids learning about music, especially in the US where Jazz became Jazz, is beyond me. Perfectly charming songs from the best of the best who made Jazz, lots of passionate Jazz.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic CD that the whole family will love! 4 Jan 2005
By MediaMaven - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
We bought this cd for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutlely loves it. In fact, after the first listening the whole family was singing along and even humming the tunes when it wasn't playing. You couldn't ask for a more impressive roster of artists, and the songs are truly enjoyable for all ages. Particularly great are, Chew, Chew, Chew (Chew Your Bubblegum), Everybody Eats When They Come to My House, and Ki Mo Ky Mo. Let's face it, our kids are getting less and less exposure to any kind of authentic music these days. Here's an antidote to Disney radio, and the latest Britney Spears clone. And for God's sake, turn off the DVD player and have them engage some other part of their brain when you're on the road. Our 9-hour Christmas commute was filled with music, reading aloud, story-writing, games, and...wait for it...actually talking to each other. That's right, we kept the DVD player off, and the family survived...happily. Give it, and this CD a try.
