I use this book all the time and several recipes have become staple meals in our house, try the cauliflower cheese soup - so easy but utterly delicious; or the baked cod on spring onion mash - real gastropub stuff but again so easy. And it's stuffed with little tips which influence your own cooking - I always do my roast potatoes a la Nick now! This book has really made me fall in love with cooking.

There aren't many recipes I'd call particularly Scottish. They might be made from ingredients that we have access to high quality sources of in Scotland, but for the most part they're generic. They're pleasant enough, but nothing you can't get from any other cookbook, so don't buy this one if you're looking for a lot of great Scottish recipes. I'll update this review when I do find such a book.

I love this book. I have it for more than a year now and we had tried lots of its recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the results can be spectacular. Shame that not all the recipes have a photo to show you how the dish should look in the end.

Bought this a whike back and it's really lovely. Recommend from a Scottish friend and a good used cooy so a bargain too. best creme brûlée recipe I've ever found and the potato stacks are fab. Think the 2 star posters are unfair!
