This is not a book by a man boasting of his "triumphs" and his god like status. Instead its follows a boy on his journey to becoming a man.
Dean "Deano" Saunders is a 22 year old Essex lad, whom fresh from graduating at university, and recently splitting from his long term love Chloe over differing commitment and future life outlooks, decides to head to the Spanish resort of Marbella to forget his heartache. Once there he finds himself unexpectedly falling into the escort scene.
Each chapter Dean introduces us to a different client, each with their own background and story to tell. We first meet Jeana, whom introduces Dean into the escort arena via his "to be" mentor Andy. Andy teaches Dean the 15 commandments for being an escort, along with strategies of how to rise to any occasions and how to prolong himself. We then follow Dean as he meets many differing people, ranging from a girl using him as a fake boyfriend so her parents don't discover she's a lesbian, to a couple using him to spice up their sex life, and even to a rendezvous with a celebrity. Each new chapter brings a new client and a fresh and challenging encounter for Dean, whether it be morally, sexually or mentally. With each chapter Dean learns more about himself and discover that no matter what he does, he cannot forget his Chloe.
This book contains both laugh out loud moments from the predicaments Dean finds himself in, to altogether romantic encounters and even life threatening scenarios. Dean learns many life lessons and armed with this finds a new energy within him to forge out a new life. He begins to teach English out in Spain and cuts down on his escort work. Upon a visit back to the UK for Christmas he meets Chloe in a chance encounter at a pub. They both express the love they still hold for one another, and it is not long before Dean convinces her to come live with him in Spain. Dean halts his escorting work and starts back up working at a bar, and teaching English, however its not long before he once again can't resist the temptations of the money and excitement that escorting brings, and this is Dean's greatest test of all. Does he choose his love of escorting or his love of Chloe...

I loved reading this book, it's an honest piece of writing and you not only get a glimpse into Deano's life but you actually follow his journey, the journey he's on to find himself. And it's this insight, into his journey which I found very touching. The book is full of laughter. The epilogue is so beautifully written that you really feel and understand by the end of the book that Deano has definitely found the answers to the questions he set out to discover. I truly recommend this book, it is a must read and I guarantee you will have big smile on your face as you read Dean Saunders's book!

A complete change from the books I normally read, but after the first chapter I wanted to continue on the journey with Deano. I loved how he was able to engage me in this transformation from a fairly naive boy into a 'man of the world'
