Simon Brett at his best, left me guessing right to the end. Very entertaining, Mrs Pargeter is a wonderful character, nothing like Miss Marple (although I love Miss Marple too!). Can't wait to read all the rest of the books in this series which Kindle are gradually putting available for download. Highly recommended.

I read this book in one sitting (228 pages) It really flows well and has you guessing as to who the murderer is. It's set in a seaside long stay hotel which is filled with middle/upper class residents spending their retirement. There is a lot happening, a lot of murders, a lot of suspects and a lot of twists in the tale. I rate this book very highly although it is not an interlectual novel - but is nice and easy to read and leaves you awaiting the next book in the series.

What a find. Mrs Pargeter is a treasure- redolent of Joyce Porter but more switched on. English murders at their best.A lovely mix of Agatha Christie, Midsomer Murders and a load of other traditional English writers but with an edge like a hot knife through butter. I'm already scanning the rest of Simon Brett's Mrs Pargeter titles! Recommended in spades!
