This is the ony map of Nicaragua I could find and for the price it is OK. Bit flimsy, made of poor quality paper but as a trip planing tool it does the trick.

Best available map

This is probably the best map of Nicaragua available in the US. That being said, it is really a pretty lousy map. The only city closeup is of Managua, and that is far too small to be of any real use. There are noticeable typographical errors, and there is no index. It would have been nice if they had utilized the blank side on the back to put additional information.

I do not thing D. Scheer has been to Nicaragua. I was there for the month of October 2008 and traveled across the country from Puerto Cabezas to Managua. This is a 25 hour trip by 4X4 pickup. There are not any road signs on the roads to put on a map. In Managua the roads do not have street signs and no road names. This map maybe the best you get but I do not know how anything better can be made at this time. Willis Hankins

I bought this because I was using the Central American map and thought it had to be better than that. I was wrong. I don't see how anyone sells a map with so many inaccuracies. Towns are misnamed or in the wrong place, not to mention that they don't even bother to number the roads. The map of Central America at least numbers the roads. This is totally useless. You are better off stopping every ten minutes to ask directions.
