I purchased this blind, having already bought, and been pleased with, the Tempted (desserts) and Shaken (cocktails) books in the same series. However this one is a real disappointment. The problem is that it is higly unbalanced in its range of recipes. Firstly, the majority of items in this book seem to contain one of oysters, scallops, mussels or prawns, which is no good to someone like me who hates shellfish. Secondly, there is a huge bias towards East Asian styles. If you like Thai style shellfish, then you might rather like this book. If you don't, you could be hard pushed to find a decent range of things you will like.

This book was on offer in a shop, so I purchased it.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price, as already mentioned a lot of Asian/Thai seafood type recipes & a lot of fiddly recipes which need cooking to serve straight way. No tips on preparing ahead, storing, reheating ect.

In a busy party situation, you may find yourself tied to the oven.

Looking for a good party food book to replace this, I can't say it will ever be used.

This is one of the best finger food/canape books I have bought.

Good variety of styles for all occasions + loads of pictures so you can see how the finished product should look!
