When Dr. Dre released this single, the third from his excellent album, The Chronic 2001, it shot into the top ten as did the album it was cut from, for the first time. The Next Episode is another pumping, catchy track from the genius producer, and is the sort of song that fans and non-fans alike will get up and dance to. The bouncing riff has "Dr. Dre" stamped all over it and Snoop delivers yet another of his trademark smooth flowing raps; the "La da da da da" is classic Snoop and will have you repeating it all day. Dre is on form as is Nate Dogg with his deep rythmic vocals. As for the 2 bonus tracks, Dre and Eminem take the form of gangsta cowboys in a cut from the Wild Wild West soundtrack called "The Bad Guys Always Die". Another catchy well produced track with great raps from the duo as both are in their element rapping about guns and money, without the swearing(!). The third is a typical instrumental of The Next Episode, and while you wont listen to this song in itself, it is a great addition, as an infinitely sampleable track because of its upbeat, lively, bouncing tune. It was good enough for City High. In short; if an advertisment for Dr. Dre was ever needed, this is it. If this single doesn't convert you non-fans out there, stick to Westlife!
